Hi, I’m Tristan Arostegui—a New York-based composer for film, TV, and media.
My scoring credits include Every Other Kid (1st Place, NYU King Awards), Dead Tongues (Best Feature, H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival), Fidelity (upcoming feature), and Inkblack (TV movie).
My music blends live instruments with digital sound design to create unique, story-driven textures. I recently worked as an assistant to composer Erik Friedlander on his score for the psychological thriller Baby Ruby.
My work has been featured at dozens of festivals including the San Diego International Film Festival, Phoenix Film Festival, Filmfest DC, SOHO International Film Festival, and Oxford University Short Film Festival and my music has been heard my millions of viewers on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Outside of film, I’ve written concert music, experimental electronic pieces, and songs for my band, Gregular. I’ve also worked across roles—engineer, conductor, orchestrator, producer—and taught screen scoring at NYU and privately.
I hold degrees in music composition from NYU (MM, Screen Scoring) and Northwestern University, and am an active member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) and the Composers Diversity Collective.
